SAM For Schools!

Scottish Archaeology Month (SAM) is a festival of free archaeological events which takes place each September all over Scotland. SAM for Schools is especially for schools who want to take part.
How can my school get involved?
Attend a free event: Now approaching its second year, our national schools programme is growing in popularity and we have more free school events than ever. This year, amongst other opportunities, students will get the chance to find out what it was like to be a Roman soldier on the Antonine Wall at Falkirk, learn archaeological investigation skills at Stanley Mills, Perthshire and meet characters from the Iron Age in Holyrood Park, Edinburgh. Keep checking our SAM events calendar to find out what's happening near you.
Meet the experts: Would your class like to have a talk from an archaeologist, get some advice about local sites or have an archaeologist accompany you on a trip? Contact us and we'll see what we can do through our SAM Ambassadors scheme which aims to put schools in touch with archaeologists in their area.
Log onto Glow: Coming soon...Find out about special Glow meets and join our archaeology group.
