WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A MEMBER OF ARCHAEOLOGY SCOTLAND
By becoming a member you will help support the work we do throughout Scotland with schools, youth groups and communities to protect and preserve our heritage.
This year you can help us to:
• provide a learning experience for 1200 children, young people and additional support needs groups
• advise and assist 20 community groups to protect their local monuments
• facilitate hundreds of events during Scottish Archaeology Month (September) across Scotland
• run field schools/workshops/summer schools for all to learn and enjoy
• host a community archaeology conference
• continue producing our annual journal - Discovery & Excavation in Scotland
• campaign for better legislation to safeguard our cultural & heritage assets
• encourage farmers and landowners to protect archaeology on their land; and
• be the voice for all those interested in preserving, understanding and enjoying our unique heritage
As a member you will:
• Get free subscription to our thrice-yearly magazine Archaeology Scotland
• Free copy of Discovery & Excavation in Scotland each year
• Free access to our education resources including artefact handling kits
• Receive our free bi-monthly e-newsletter
• Get reduced rates for our summer school/workshops and conferences
• Get an invitation to our free annual members’ field trip and other events
• Have an opportunity to vote on Archaeology Scotland affairs at the AGM
