Find funding for your projects<\/h2>\n

Thinking about embarking on an archaeology project?\u00a0 Note that one of the funding priorities for Historic Environment Scotland of their Archaeology Programme Funding<\/a> is ‘projects that include an education programme\/activities’. Also see their handy guide\u00a0Sharing our Stories<\/a>. This guide\u00a0is intended to help applicants applying to the Archaeology Programme Funding and gives ideas and examples of different ways groups can spread the word including events, online content, exhibitions, open days, open data, and various types of academic and other publications.<\/p>\n

Check out these grants listed in the Outdoor Learning Directory\u00a0<\/a> – and while you’re there, have a browse\u00a0 for loads of training, places, resources and events!<\/p>\n

At the 2018 Scottish Learning Festival, Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills, John Swinney, announced that schools could use their Pupil Equity Fund to pay for school trips.<\/p>\n

Scottish schools can apply for help of up to 75% (\u00a3250) of their travel costs with the\u00a0Scottish Government Heritage Education \u2013 School Visits Travel Subsidy and travel to all Historic Scotland sites, some National Trust sites and New Lanark World Heritage Site. For more information and an application form, see Historic Environment Scotland’s website.<\/a><\/p>\n

Check the attraction’s website. Your local council may provide a grant directly to the attraction who in turn provide a fee reduction (an example of this is City of Edinburgh Council support for area schools to visit Edinburgh Zoo<\/a>).<\/p>\n
