We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded £113,860 from National Lottery Heritage Fund to develop greater organisational and sector resilience through our project Unearthing a Better Future. In this, our 80th year, this will help us continue to explore and enjoy our heritage across Scotland as a benefit to society that is available to all.
Our project covers three main areas that helps us deliver what you need:
- Sector Development
We know that the past few years have been challenging for many other third sector and voluntary organisations, we want to improve our support and services to our membership (and the communities they represent) and work out how we can deliver more together in response to some our shared needs.
- Business Development
We will develop new programmes of activity, relating to Health and Wellbeing through participation in archaeology, and to Skills and Employability services through archaeology which can generate regular income for our charity and benefit our partners and supporters well into the future.
- Internal Development
Helping us to improve our services to you we will work to improve our IT systems and digital capabilities which will allow to communicate more effectively and evaluate the impact that we make together.
This resilience project will involve working with our membership, partners and the wider public to develop a more sustainable model for Archaeology Scotland. Together, we can widen participation in archaeology with the many benefits it brings for you and your community including issues relating to climate adaptation and aiming for net zero.
