Young Archaeologists’ Club (YAC)
The Young Archaeologists’ Club is the only UK-wide club where 8-16 year olds can participate in real archaeology and discover why it matters. If you want to become a professional archaeologist in the future or just feel like taking up an amazing new hobby, YAC is the right place for you!YAC members take part in all sorts of fantastic, hands-on activities, such as excavation, working with artefacts, visiting historical sites and undertaking experimental archaeology.
Join a YAC Club
There are over 70 clubs throughout the UK, run by over 500 dedicated volunteers. The Council for British Archaeology (CBA) supports the volunteers to deliver over 10,000 archaeology and heritage-based activity places each year.

Scotland Online Young Archaeologists’ Club
Archaeology Scotland is delighted to be running the new Scotland Online Young Archaeologists’ Club on behalf of the Council for British Archaeology.
Scotland Online YAC is open to anyone in Scotland aged 8–16. These sessions will be packed with archaeology activities and virtual site visits, helping young people explore and understand Scotland’s rich archaeological heritage.
Session will run from 10-11am on the last Saturday of every month (unless otherwise stated).
This new initiative is funded by Historic Environment Scotland.
