The Archaeology Scotland AGM will be held on 24th October in Cowane’s Hospital, Stirling.
The day starts at 10 a.m. with registration and tea and coffee then we have talks from Stirling-based archaeologists.
We will have a talk from Sally Foster on ‘The difference media interest in your research can make: public responses to the ‘discovery’ of the Stone of Destiny’s many fragments’ and a talk from Murray Cook, or one of his colleagues, on ‘Stirling Archaeology: by the people for the people. A new approach to volunteering in archaeology.’ We will also hear from the Archaeology Scotland’s Jane Miller about some of our recent learning and employability projects, including work we have done with Stirling Young Carers and we will launch our new website and Archaeology Scotland 2026-31 Strategy.
The official AGM business will take place at 12.00 followed by a buffet lunch then a tour of the medieval graveyard next to the hospital building.
